Ngan In Leng
President
Mr. Ngan is a leading Macau businessman whose interests range from hotel and entertainment investments and property development throughout Asia to communications and hi-tech manufacturing in China. Mr. Ngan is chairman of the Macau Mazu Foundation, a charitable institution dedicated to furthering the understanding and worship of Mazu (or A-ma, the Chinese sea goddess). The A-Ma Temple in Macau, which was built more than 500 years ago, is one of Macau's most famous cultural and historic landmarks. He is also a Vice Chairman of the Economic Committee of the People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top political advisory body.
Andrew Pyne
CEO and Founding Partner
Andrew is an airline industry veteran with 26 years of aviation experience. He led Cathay Pacific's traffic and overflight rights negotiations and management of their major commercial relationships and alliances as its GM for International Affairs. He also represented CX in the world s most prestigious airline alliance: oneworld. In the 1990s, Andrew served with the Hong Kong Government as its Chief Air Services Negotiator. He spearheaded aviation policy liberalisation and was also instrumental in the execution of a sweeping series of telecommunications policy reforms for Hong Kong in the early-90s. Andrew worked with British Airways in the UK and Continental Europe from 1979 to 1983. Andrew holds an MBA from Henley Business School (UK).
Captain Paul Horsting
Founding
Partner
Paul retired as Head of International Operations at Cathay Pacific Airways in 2002. At Cathay, he was responsible for the development of new and cost-effective routes for Cathay's global network. He was also responsible for managing and reducing Cathay's USD100 million-plus annual budget for overflight charges. Representing the company in a variety of IATA and ICAO bodies, Paul was Chairman of IATA's Middle East and ASPAC Regional Coordinating Groups from the late-90s until he left Cathay. He pioneered the opening up of North Polar routes to commercial aviation and has spearheaded diplomacy with the Central Asian states and North Korea, to secure new, shorter routings for international air traffic. Paul has 45 years of experience as a commercial pilot, covering a full range of aircrafts from the DC6 to the Boeing 747-400.
Con Korfiatis
Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer
Con is an airline executive with over 15 years experience. He was Head of Strategy at Qantas prior to joining Viva Macau and was the founding Chief Executive of Jetstar Asia. He has held a number of senior executive roles in some of the region's well-known airlines, including Marketing and Loyalty Program management at Singapore Airlines; Commercial Director and CFO of Ansett International; and General Manager, Indonesia and Corporate Finance General Manager for Ansett Australia Group. As Commercial Director & CFO of Ansett, Con's team established international operations for the airlines in several Asian countries. Con holds a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University in Melbourne, and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Gordon Slater
Director of Flight Operations
With more than 12 years flying and management experience
at some of the world's best airlines, Gordon leads Viva
Macau's flight operations. He was previously the Chief
Pilot of Thailand's holiday airline PBAir where he managed
its fleet of B767 and Embraer aircraft. In addition
to his thousands of flying hours, Gordon has extensive
experience as instructor for simulator and ground school,
as flight engineer and as check pilot on the 727 with
airlines such as Orient Thai Airways and American Airlines/TWA,
among others. Gordon holds a degree in aircraft maintenance
management from St. Louis University and credit hours
in International Relations from Webster University,
St. Louis.
Arthur Lai
Director of Commercial
Arthur was head of the award-winning marketing & brand
management department at Hong Kong Dragon Airlines (Dragonair)
prior to joining Viva Macau. His responsibilities included
product, frequent flyer loyalty marketing, marketing
communications, brand management, tactical promotions,
marketing research and e-business. Arthur has also worked
in customer service, airline corporate planning, and
passenger and cargo sales departments at Cathay Pacific
Airways. Arthur holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering
from the University of Hong Kong and an MBA from the
University of Michigan (US).
Y.C. Lee
Director of Engineering
Prior to Viva Macau, YC was founding Chief Technical Officer at Thai SkyWays Airways, a Thai-based start-up freight airline where he was responsible for creating its Engineering, Maintenance and Operations Department. From 1976 to 1998, YC worked at Cathay Pacific Airways. His final position was Regional Engineering Manager, Southeast Asia & India. From 1972 to 1975, YC worked for Singapore Airlines in its Maintenance and Engineering department. He began his career at Qantas in 1965. YC studied Aircraft Engineering at Sydney Technical University.
Tom Wong
Director of Cargo
Prior to joining Viva Macau, Tom was responsible for cargo sales at Cathay Pacific for the Hong Kong and China market. He was also Country Manager, India, Nepal and Bangladesh from 1998 to 2001 with the same airline. Before his South Asia posting, Tom was seconded by Cathay to Global Logistics Asia (an associated company) as Director and GM. He first joined Cathay as Engineering Supplies Superintendent in 1991, following a three-year commission in the US Air Force where he attained the rank of First Lieutenant, Development Planning Analyst and Project Manager, and was seconded to McDonnell Douglas as a Flight Test Engineer. Tom holds a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from California State Polytechnic University and a Master's degree in Electro-Optics from University of Dayton, Ohio.
Tina Di Cicco
Global Head of Marketing
Tina has more than 16 years of experience leading marketing and partnerships in the tourism and IT industries. She has a decade of experience with Lufthansa, principally directing communications and marketing in Southeast Asia and managing airport passenger services. Tina co-founded and was Executive Vice President of I-Quest Corporation, a pioneer provider of broadband service to the hotel industry worldwide. She led the development of Asia and Europe's first web-based exchange for the US$250 billion Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) industry. She also led marketing, on-line travel booking and alliances for the award-winning business travel portal worldroom.com. Prior to joining Viva Macau, Tina co-founded VinciWorks, a global provider of web-based e-learning solutions to the legal, financial and tourism industries.
Michael Newcombe
General Manager, Corporate Development
Michael has worked globally in both management consulting and aviation for over six years. He started his career with Deloitte Consulting serving global clients focusing on Corporate Strategy before concentrating on a career in aviation working with Qantas, Jetstar Asia and the Virgin Group. During his time with Qantas and Jetstar Asia as Manager of Network & Corporate Strategy, he was responsible for the development, roll-out and management of Jetstar Asia’s start-up network. Michael has developed extensive industry knowledge and expertise in aviation economics and finance, schedule development and management, and has worked in both full service and low cost carriers. He has worked extensively throughout Australia, Asia, and the Middle East. He holds a B Arts & B Business (1st Hons) from the University of Queensland.
Marietta Li
General Manager, People
Marietta is a HR generalist with over 10 years’ managerial experience in multinational companies with regional exposure. She has proven track record in China plant management localization, opening new offices and setting up Human Resources Department from scratch both in non-government organization and business sector. Prior to joining Viva Macau, she was working at a Dutch airline responsible for the full spectrum HR functions of Asia Pacific Region. Marietta obtained bachelor degree in Public Policy & Management from the University of Ulster, UK and a master’s degree in Strategic Human Resources Management from the Hong Kong Baptist University.
